Project: Reflection Presentation
At
the beginning of this course, you selected a target population and a specific
issue or problem related to that population to research. Throughout the course,
you examined the population and issue from a variety of perspectives such as
theory, policy, government regulations and standards, and prevention measures.
Resources:
Appendix A, Human Services in Contemporary America, the University
Library PowerPoint® Presentation tutorial at
http://www.apollolibrary.com/cwe/pdfs/PowerPointTutorial.pdf, and your research
results from the CheckPoints and assignments you completed for this course.
Due
Date: Day 7 [Individual forum]
Use
the
information you gathered throughout this course as a reference and prepare a
13- to 17-slide PowerPoint® presentation about the knowledge you gained from
your research in this course. Briefly describe the issue and target population
you chose to research for the assignments in this course and summarize the
outcomes of your research. Also, explain how you intend to apply this knowledge
in your future career as a human service worker.
Include
introduction
and conclusion slides and cite sources in APA style.
Address
the
following guiding questions in your presentation:
From what you
have learned in this course and your research results, what are your greatest
concerns about the current state of the human service industry?
Considering all
of the conflicts, issues, and challenges you analyzed and discussed in this
course, explain your viewpoint regarding the ideology that human service
workers should be "advocates for social justice" (Ch. 9, p. 336).
Has your view
changed since the beginning of the course regarding the role of the human
services worker in relation to the future needs of America?
How
will you apply the knowledge you gained from this course to your future human
service career?
Post
your
presentation as a Microsoft® PowerPoint® attachment.
